We are highly motivated to improve care, medicines, devices, diagnostics, therapies and patient journeys. For this we build fast growing companies in East and West, create hundreds, even thousands, of healthcare jobs and excellent returns for investors. Our companies deliver high-quality care and products, supported by world renowned healthcare institutions such as Harvard Medical School teaching hospitals. Innovation is a key differentiator and creates competitive advantage. Novel solutions are not always easy to implement, but open new horizons for the provision of higher quality care, better cost control, and ultimately, greater impact.
Our focus on people is fundamental for creating a true strategic partnership between us and the companies we invest in. Our investment strategy is clear and transparent: we focus on expansion and growth capital investments. We work with the best possible partners in the field, such as our partners on the life science venture capital side (TVM Life Science Management in Munich and Montreal), Harvard Medical School teaching hospitals (such as Spaulding Rehabilitation Network), the inventors of IVF (Bourn Hall Clinic), large accreditation institutions (such as JCI), patient centric care organizations (such as Planetree), regional regulatory bodies, national research institutions (such as the Egyptian National Research Centre), and other important stakeholders of the industry.
We are in a long-term affiliation with TVM Life Science Management operating out of Munich and Montreal. These companies were built on the foundation laid by our CEO, Dr. Helmut Schuehsler, after starting TVM Capital’s biotech investing strategy in Germany as early as 1991. Under his leadership, TVM Capital became the leading life science investor in Germany, and one of the leading pan-European investors. He started a strong life science team and stepped up the firm’s life science activities in the Boston office from 1998 onwards. As a result, TVM Capital was for many years among the top investors in life sciences on the U.S. East Coast. TVM Life Science Management is currently investing TVM Capital’s seventh life science venture capital fund, focused on early and late stage deals in Europe and North America, focusing mainly on single-asset drug development programs and late stage biomedical companies.
